To be candid, it was the first time I can ever recall being in a boxing gym. I need a better word than excitement. It was really entertaining for me to see the youths dedicated on being somebody and having the notion of representing their community internationally. Watch out for the youngster Michael Lynch!It was a pleasure to meet the trainers of the gym, Renaldo, brought specially from Cuba to advance the abilities that the St Lucians already have and Conrad Fredericks, originating from Guyana. An upcoming boxer called Lyndell Marcelin, scheduled to fight at the soon to come Olympic event in the UK does his workout at this gym under the supervision of Renaldo.So a "Big Up" to all my St Lucian brethrens: Didier of the One Drop sound system, Sanchez, Shakes, you' taxi still run tings, Conrad Fredericks, you're the "sup" when it comes to soup, Reds Perriere, the owner of the gym; your wishes are my command and Boo Hinkson, the man that is jazzier than Jazz itself.St Lucia, You Are a Knock Out!!!
